ISCRA Organic Farming

Josep and Wolf have been practising organic livestock farming in the Alta Garrotxa area for more than thirty years, working with different sheep and cattle breeds. Over the past fifteen years, they have focused on raising the Albera cow. This is practically the only native Catalan cattle breed, highly adapted to the territory, but unfortunately at great risk of extinction.

They practise transhumance, migrating their cows from Alta Garrotxa to Les Gavarres, where the herd stays duinrg the winter and spring. In this way, they make the most from the pastures of two different climatic zones. At the same time, their grazing helps reduce the high risk of wildfires in both territories.

Josep and Wolf sell the meat of their calves directly. Thus offering exquisite, organic beef, made available to their clients at specific times of the year.
